ABOUT THIS JOURNEYThis summer, Nextwave Missions will deploy an Advance Team of young adults to London for an immersive experience in diaspora ministry, cultural engagement, and hands-on service with local churches.
Led personally by Nextwave Missions founder Joshua Matteson, this program will introduce participants to the realities of gospel ministry in one of the world’s most global cities.
London is home to hundreds of ethnic communities and dozens of unreached people groups. Through this journey, students will see firsthand how God is bringing the nations together—and how the church is responding.
Explore London’s Global Neighborhoods
Participants will spend time in some of the most diverse communities in Europe, including:
Southall – “Little India”
One of the largest Punjabi communities outside India, with Sikh gurdwaras, Hindu temples, and vibrant South Asian markets.
Whitechapel & Brick Lane – “Banglatown”
The heart of London’s Bangladeshi Muslim community and home to dozens of mosques.
Chinatown & Soho
A historic hub for East Asian communities and global cultures.
Students will participate in guided prayerwalking and cultural observation, learning how missionaries understand the spiritual and cultural landscape of a city.
Serve Alongside Local Churches
Advance Team members will spend several days serving alongside London churches that are actively reaching immigrant communities.
Service opportunities may include:
• Community outreach
• Neighborhood engagement
• Church-based service projects
• Ministry alongside diaspora believers
These experiences help students move beyond observation into participating in real ministry efforts.
